I graduated with an MPH from FSU way back in 2008. I studied Agent Orange used in the Vietnam War from a public health perspective. This protest was extremely small compared to the massive gatherings and intensity during the Vietnam War. When I presented to the class, I showed one slide of the "March on the Pentagon" in 1967 when protesters confronted the national guard. The crowd size extended all across the bridge. You can see it in the YT video "Vietnam War - California Dreamin'". By contrasts, today's protests were relatively small and sporadic. The difference now compared to 1967 is massive social media. I am glad the protests have faded. I studied a lot at Strozier and Dirac Library. I think it would have been unsettling to see campus unrest while trying to get ready for final exams. FSU was rigorous for graduate studies and STEM. Arrests of protests by FSU students are not new. Back in the 1960s, a then-unknown Jim Morrison of the Doors was a student at FSU. He was arrested a couple of times. You can google his mug shot from Tallahassee. He was also arrested for inciting a riot in at least one of his concerts in Miami, FL. Incidentally, the music by the Doors is often affiliated with war films of Vietnam.
